Eleanor Ruffner has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2004. She has litigated a variety of matters in state and federal court, handling disputes from pre-suit investigation and counseling through exhaustive appeals. Over the course of her career, she has represented and advised individuals, small businesses, and international companies on a broad range of subjects, including commercial and contract disputes, fiduciary obligations, business divorces, securities law violations, intellectual property claims, antitrust regulations, personal injury defense (including toxic tort, premises, and products liability), professional malpractice, and constitutional rights.
At Ruffner Schoenbaum, Eleanor focuses her practice on the litigation needs of the firm’s business clients.
In addition to her private law practice, Eleanor also serves as an adjunct at the University of Texas School of Law. In the Fall Semester, she teaches Intensive Trial Skills and serves as an instructor for the UT Law Advocacy Program's Fall Litigation Institute. In the spring, she serves as an instructor for the UT Law Advocacy Program's Spring Trial Academy and teaches Advocacy outside the Courtroom.
Eleanor and her husband, Tom (also an attorney in Austin), have two young children and a rescue dog. In her recreational time she practices yoga with more enthusiasm than skill.
