Lauren is passionate about supporting local businesses by helping to minimize their exposure to legal disputes and uncertainty. She is a frequent speaker on the subject, and draws on her litigation background support and develop cost effective strategies for new and growing businesses. Her affinity for self-starters and entrepreneurs is based in her own entrepreneurial experience. She co-owned her first business while still in college. Lauren prioritizes client communication and works efficiently with clients to develop the best strategy for each individual client.
Prior to forming Ruffner Schoenbaum, PLLC, Lauren owned a solo practice, The Schoenbaum Firm, PLLC for over three years. She has also worked in firms focusing on commercial litigation, administrative law, and appellate law. A native Kansan, Lauren earned her BSBA in Marketing and International Business from Washington University in Saint Louis and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2009, with honors.
In addition to her legal practice, Lauren is on the board of the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association of Austin, a 501(c)(3) organization for working mom attorneys with over 600 members, is on the Advisory Board for Barton Hills Elementary School and is an active supporter of the Austin Bar Association, PeopleFund, and the Austin Diaper Bank.
